The public doors on this stretch

Deer Lake State Park sits in the middle of the stretch, more than 2,000 acres in total, with a 139 acre beach-side section holding most of Deer Lake itself, a quarter-mile boardwalk over what 30A.com calls an undisturbed landscape of rolling white sand hills, and a half mile of protected beach at the end of it. County infrastructure covers the rest: Walton County maintains more than 50 beach and bay accesses, including 11 regional beach accesses with restrooms, parking, and showers, per the county's tourism bureau. The nearest heavyweight is Inlet Beach Regional Access, the area's largest, with a long boardwalk, seasonal lifeguards, restrooms, and accessible parking. None of these require anything but arriving early enough to park in season.
